- UMC stands for United Microelectronics based in Taiwan. As far as I know
- they are only accessible via long-distance calls. Using the altavista
- search engine I've seen no sign of a web page or an email address for them.
- I don't recall the international phone number. You might gain some limited
- information about the purpose of a certain UMC chip(whether it is a UART,
- SRAM, etcc) if you go to the "Chip identification" page. Not sure of the
- URL, but I found it at altavista by doing a search on "chip identification"
- under advanced query.
